Here is the second painting I completed in the series for Parkhouse Bell. This one is of Brisbane. I have tried to convey the atmosphere of a major Australian city, with its contrasting buildings from the late 19th to early 21st century. I was particularly intrigued by a car park which had been enhanced by the addition of a a steel sculpture based on the contour lines of the countryside around the city. I also loved its 1940s sweeping bridge and the red-brick facade of McWhirter's famous department store dating from the 1890s.
